River Jam: Will Easter

Will Easter

Will Easter was born in the Sauratown Mountain Range of Western North Carolina. The Sauratown Mountains are sometimes called "the Mountains away from the Mountains” as they are an isolated range totally separate from the Appalachians formed by a massive glacier and are home to both Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain State Parks.

Will grew up working and playing hard in this Sauratown region, and inherited from his Father and Grandfather at a young age a deep love of music, nature, the land, and the river, which has gifted him an earnest appreciation of his unique home. Notably, Will also inherited from both his Grandfather’s and Father’s classic Martin D-28 guitars, which he takes today in their original blue cases to performance which are not only heirlooms but old friends. Hearing Will’s original carefully crafted songs, one is imbued with heartfelt honest hardworking and earthen lyrics that reveal stories of love, of love lost, and the singers own genuine unique pain of human progression. As a music lover, Will has big ears for many genres, but is primarily focused on performing his own original Sauratown Mountains country folk sound, which some fans have referred to as “grunge grass”. When listened to and reviewed closely Will’s influences permeate the ear and reflect a love and deep appreciation for artists such as John Prine, American Aquarium, The Major Sevens, and the Avett Brothers as well as Sturgill Simpson. Mr. Easter is currently playing at venues across the triad and North Western North Carolina while finishing his degree at Appalachian State University. In recent years he has toured performing at local regional festivals including Carolina in the Fall, the Stokes County Stomp, and Friend Fest, which provided the opportunity to collaborate live on stage with artists such as Rhonda Vincent and the Kruger Brothers. Will’s bass player is his attorney J. Drew Willardson who enjoys holding down the low end on a five string left handed Schecter Stihletto Studio Bass. Be looking for Will within the coming year to graduate from Appalachian State University and to amplify his touring schedule while actively releasing his first solo album which has now been fully fleshed out. Until that time please enjoy the live tunes we have presented for you to stream. # Will Easter's NC Sauratown Mountain Music is Coming!! # Will Easter's NC Grunge Grass is On Fire!! https://www.facebook.com/WillEasterMusic/
