In this unique take on Shakespeare, playwright Sean San José has "translated" the Bard's language into contemporary English, part of a larger commissioning project by Play On Shakespeare(opens in new tab) in collaboration with Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
In one of Shakespeare’s last written tragedies, the war play “Coriolanus” follows the tumultuous career of Roman general Caius Marcius who makes his name defeating an enemy army but struggles to become a leader for the people of Rome.
These performances are presented in collaboration with Play On Shakespeare, whose mission is to enhance the understanding of Shakespeare’s plays in performance for theater professionals, students, teachers and audiences by engaging with contemporary translations and adaptations.
