About The Practitioner
Catherine Louise Webster is a Handpan artist from New Hampshire now living in Brunswick County, NC after an eight year residency in Colorado. The Handpan instrument (also called Hangdrum or Pantam) is a type of closed body steel percussion derived from the steelpan. Catherine has been practicing meditative spiritual drumming for four years. The seed for growth was planted in May 2015, by attending a drumming retreat at Shambala Mountain Center in Red Feather Lakes, CO. This experience shifted her life path and brought on a major spiritual awakening. In 2017, she had her D Major Handpan exclusively handcrafted in California. She is self-taught with hundreds of hours invested in understanding music medicine, meditation, and trancework. In addition, she is part of active drum circles and regularly hosts Nidra yoga events along the Carolina coast. Her journey is one of everlasting growth and unconditional love for human emotion. Her goal is to teach others the ability to find the courage to drum with meditative intentions, ultimately finding their path to spiritual growth or awakening as well.
