GRA BRANCH MEETING: Linkages Between Groundwater Pumping and Quality in California's Central Valley During Drought

It has been established that wells are at risk to run dry when groundwater levels decline during drought, but associated impacts to water quality are poorly understood.

This talk will present new research establishing dynamic relations between groundwater levels and nitrate concentrations at public drinking-water wells throughout California’s Central Valley over the past 30 years.

This work was undertaken as part of the California State Water Resources Control Board’s Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment (GAMA) program.
