Empower Youth Network (EYN) will partner with other community organizations to present the 2nd Annual Resilience Rising Conference on Friday, March 25, 2022. This virtual event will be held from 8:15 a.m. - 4 p.m. and includes a full agenda of speakers presenting on topics related to building resilience and becoming a trauma-informed community. This conference is open to everyone including educators, social service providers, youth mentors, and parents.
The Resilience Rising Conference, led by EYN Executive Director Laura Smith, includes Introductory, Advanced and Wild Card tracks participants can choose from. Up to five Washington State Approved Clock Hours are available for this event if desired.
Topics covered at the Resilience Rising Conference include supporting the development of resilience in youth, healing through story-telling, and strategies to overcome race-based trauma. Guest presenters include EYN’s Director of Programs Jerry Blackburn, M.Ed., SUDP; Kim Kanzler and Megan Walsh from Encompass NW, Kristina Katayama and Reba Meriwood from Be Possible; and Luis Ortega from Storytellers for Change.
