Description

Rutland County Audubon Society launches its first Pride Hike. All are welcome to attend.

Rutland County Audubon is excited to collaborate with Outright Vermont and Come Alive Outside to welcome you to this early spring Pride Hike. This hike will take place at our new and interesting Whipple Hollow Trail in West Rutland, Vermont. Pride Hikes, such as this one, go beyond being "welcoming to everyone" to creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA++ community members.

Please register in advance. Your information will be kept confidential and used by program coordinators to determine how many folks to expect and contact you about this event. All ages, allies, and families welcome! Youth under 18 years should be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Parking is next to the kiosk. The trail loop is approximately 1.4 miles and traverses two boardwalks, a flat island, and a meadow. There is a semi-steep slope at the beginning of trail and trail conditions may vary from snow covered, to icy, to muddy depending on previous weather conditions. Please bring your own weather-appropriate hiking attire and equipment if you are able to. Limited quantities of ice creepers and/or snowshoes will be provided to assist with traction if necessary.Light refreshments and snacks will be available at the conclusion of the walk courtesy of Come Alive Outside. We hope you will be able to attend!
