Music on the Mountain: Mark Montijo and Lenny Bole
By Julian Library

Mark Montijo has been writing and performing original material since his teens (except for several decades when he did other stuff). This other stuff included home design and construction, research and writing for a State senator, land use planning, small businesses and museum management, and project management for construction of a full-sized Spanish galleon. He was recently featured in American Songwriter magazine.

Mark met Lenny Bole in the early 1970s on a college lawn where young men with musical instruments assembled with the bold intent of impressing young women. They both played music professionally, occasionally together in the Phil Gross Band, but usually in separate paths. Lenny was a founding member of the band Montezuma’s Revenge; and toured with them and played with other groups before entering a career as an elementary school teacher.

The Music on the Mountain concert series is generously funded by Friends of the Julian Library.
