Called a keyboard wizard by The New Yorker, Bob Malone has amassed a loyal international fan base through twenty-five years of relentless touring and nine critically acclaimed album releases. He has played keyboards for John Fogerty since 2011 and a session player for Ringo Starr and Avril Lavigne.

Bob combines memorable songwriting, refreshing reinterpretations of classic tunes, and a one-of-a-kind hybrid of rock, melodic pop, blues, and New Orleans R&B, delivered with high-energy piano virtuosity and a voice all his own. His most recent album is Good People.

“…a soulful songwriter, passionate singer, exuberant piano player and ecstatic performer whose astounding, abounding talents are immediately evident throughout 11 inspired and inspiring songs on his glorious ninth album, Good People.” – Elmore Magazine

THE BOB MALONE BANDS & SHOWS

Bob’s four touring bands are made up of all-star players from around the globe and include A-list session players in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, and Rome. Artists his bands have toured and recorded with include The Neville Brothers, Journey, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Cocker, Jerry Douglas, Gino Vannelli, Joe Sample, and Claudio Baglioni. Add to this the gospel-powered Malonettes background singers and it adds up to a high energy, eclectic hybrid of rock, blues, melodic piano pop, and New Orleans R&B, with a light dusting of jazz chops all around.

The Bob Malone Band plays worldwide, including sets at Umbria Jazz Festival (Italy), HB Town Music Festival (China) Glastonbury Music Festival (UK), The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival (UK), Long Beach Bayou Fest (US), Falcon Ridge Folk Fest (US), Beersel Blues Rock Festival (Belgium), Blue Mountains Music Fest (AU), and venues like Iridium (NYC), House Of Blues (New Orleans, Chicago), Wilshire-Ebell Theatre (Los Angeles), The 100 Club (London), Sellersville Theatre (PA), Biscuits & Blues (San Francisco), Crested Butte Center For The Arts (CO), and The Basement (Sydney).

The magic and energy of Bob’s band shows are captured in full on his Mojo Live album and DVD, captured live at the Grand Annex Theatre in Los Angeles.

MALONE ALONE

When not touring with his band or with John Fogerty, Bob Malone brings his solo show to acoustic listening rooms, small theaters and house concerts around the world. Just Bob, a piano, a microphone and a stompbox, the show has the high energy impact of a full band performance combined with storytelling and pin-drop ballad singing in the best of the troubadour tradition.

Prestigious venues such as McCabe’s (Los Angeles), Walker Theatre at Clay Center for the Performing Arts (Charleston, WV), Dazzle Jazz (Denver, CO), Alberta Rose Theatre (Portland, OR), Kuumbwa Jazz Center (Santa Cruz, CA), The Duplex (NYC), Ogden Museum of Southern Art (New Orleans), The Bluebird Cafe (Nashville, TN), Caffe Lena (Saratoga, NY), Eddie’s Attic (Atlanta, GA), Towne Crier (Hudson, NY), Freight & Salvage (Berkeley, CA), The Ark (Ann Arbor, MI), The Barns at Wolf Trap (Washington, DC), and Club Passim (Boston, MA) have hosted his show. He has also brought his eclectic hybrid of rock, blues, melodic piano pop, jazz, and New Orleans R&B to the concert spaces at Steinway Piano Galleries all over the United States.

Music Connection Magazine says of his solo live album, Malone Alone: “Fiery performances and on-mic asides reveal the masterful storyteller and musician at his most entertaining.

“’Good People’ is yet another feather in Bob’s cap, as he builds a catalog of world-class original music, an increasing “back catalog” of rollickin’ piano blues music awaiting discovery by the new fans each subsequent disc uncovers. Keyboard wizard. Talented songwriter.  Voice of a generation. Good People.”
