Artist Talk: Michael Landy
By SSLP Dulwich College
The SSLP Creative Hub are delighted to announce that Michael Landy will be joining us at Dulwich College on the 2nd of February at 5pm for a talk about his artistic practice. Famous for being one of the YBAs, Landy’s work was shown at the now infamous Freeze (1980) exhibition, curated by fellow Goldsmith’s student Damien Hirst.  His work has focused on the world of marketing and consumerism, often presenting satirical views on the political and social climate of neoliberal Britain over the last decade and a half. He is best known for his performance piece Break Down (2001) in which he destroyed all his possessions. Michael Landy is represented by Thomas Dane Gallery.
