From Executive Producer Heather Henson, Handmade Puppet Dreams is a traveling film series that promotes independent artists exploring their handmade craft specifically for the screen. These films all focus on real-time puppetry, and show what's possible when artists are allowed to build their vision, and then breathe life into their dreams.
These film collections have screened around the world from London International Mime Festival to Bonnaroo, from BAM to DragonCon and many community centers, classrooms, and local theaters in between.
Handmade Puppet Dreams' artists have worked on some of the biggest productions of puppets on film -- Guillermo del Toro's Pinnochio, Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Being John Malkovich, Dave Built a Maze, Won't You Be My Neighbor -- and have been highlighted on America's Got Talent and Die Puppenstars.
Topical and Seasonal collections running approximately 60 min. with discussion guides available. Custom collections available on request. Screenings can be augmented by filmmaker talkbacks, behind-the-scenes documentaries, and artist Masterclasses. All can be done in person or via Zoom.
