Launched in 1999, The Puppet and Its Double Theater is dedicated to an experimental approach and a belief that all things can be formed into puppets, exploring the possibilities of puppetry in contemporary performing art.

The Selfish Giant is a well-known fairy tale writted by Oscar Wilde for his little son. Despite its insinuated undertone, the story contains deep love for the world and the wisdom of life. The fragility of children and flowers is used to constrast the powerfulness of the Giant, but the Giant, with such strength, needs the childern to defrost the frozen garden.

Die on that Day explores the life confession of an outcast through eight vignettes. In a cold dissecting room, puppeteers, like forensic examiners, trace each body's final destination in life, full of craziness and bizarreness.

**Available Touring Dates: January 2024 through December 2025**

About Taipei Cultural Center in New York

The Taipei Cultural Center in New York (TCC), which was established as the first overseas office of Taiwan's Ministry of Culture in 1991, builds connections through arts and culture in New York and throughout North America. Each year, we reach out to art museums, theaters, performing arts centers, film cinemas, festivals, curators, and presenters in the US and Canada. We support international cultural exchanges, collaborations, and artistic events in order to introduce Taiwan's arts and culture to a broader audience.
