(Almost) September Full Moon Ritual
By Dawne

This full moon brings the influence of Pisces energy to our world. There are certain things in life that create miasma, a kind of spiritual dirt, and it has a tendency of clinging to us just like physical dirt. So as we have a shower to wash away physical dirt, so must we wash away any negative miasma we collected throughout our day. For the working portion of this full moon ritual we will be making Khernips, a lustral water which was used in ancient Hellenic times to splash your hands and face prior to entering ritual and communing with the Gods. You will need a cereal sized bowl or mason jar of water, a tiny fragrant twig, or leaf like rosemary, cedar, or peppermint, and a match, lighter, or other flame. You may also want to have a spare jar with a lid on hand to save some of your Khernips to set out under the full moon for charging when it’s at full luminosity Tuesday, September 1st. And as usual, don’t forget to have your cakes and ale ready. Rosemary, basil, chamomile, barley, corn, and other grain offerings are associated with the September Corn Moon.
